Sky’s Mission
Running 7,300km across Canada was not the most difficult journey I have been on. It was nasty, tough, physically and even more mentally challenging than any run I have been on…but not my toughest battle.
I lost one of my best friends to suicide at just 12 years old, and another best friend just 3 years later in 2012.
I’ve lived with the dark gloomy cloud, and I understand the unrelenting grasp it has on its victims. I went from a kid with the biggest and wildest of dreams, to having it all stripped away in an instant. I lost all hope for a long time. My motivation and hunger for success was no where to be seen from age 12-19 years old.
Today my mission is to speak to students and help reignite some motivation for everyone especially those going through difficult times. Aiming to inspire those that are in struggling to believe in themselves and know that these dark times do not define our future, and they sure do not have to hold us back from reaching our dreams.
Doing what makes me the happiest, setting goals, and never giving up has led me to accomplishing feats I never thought were possible, like running across Canada, and then asking myself “whats next?”. And that is the blueprint and motivation I want to share with others so they can go beyond their biggest goals.
